I am feeding my baby Gerber food, and would like to know what you are disappointed in.

(I also make my own baby food when I can – that’s best for baby!)

Is it okay to put the plastic Gerber baby food packages in the dishwasher and reuse them?
I would like to reuse the plastic Gerber Baby Food packages instead of just throwing them away, is it ok to put them in the dishwasher and reuse them for other baby food? These are the clear plastic rectangle containers that come in two pack.

I didn’t put them in the dishwasher because ours gets really hot. I washed them by hand in hot soapy water and would reuse them about two times and then dispose of them. Yeah though, I reused them and never had a problem. They are great for storing little baby items to. I use them to put qtips in for my daughter when we travel. Also I put some of her hair clips in them. Best of luck!

At first it will be less expensive because you’ll start the baby out slowly on baby foods. Keep in mind though , your baby will still need formula until he/ she is 1 yr old even with baby food. Here’s a tip …you can buy the organic salt free veggies separately and run them through the food processor with a little bottled water and then pour them into ice cube trays and freeze. when you take them out of the trays put them into zip lock bags and Label them (eg . peas, green beans, etc)and add the date. warm it when your ready to feed .Store them in the freezer and use them with in about 6 mos ( most ppl say a year but I was always a bit on the safe side). You could probably start doing it now and have enough to last a while by the time the baby is ready for it. You can also do the same thing in a popsicle maker for when the baby starts cutting teeth ( just don’t warm it)

Babies can be exclusively nourished with breast milk through the first year. Quit rushing with the baby food.

What can I make Gerber baby food into?
My daughters father bought TONS of Gerber baby food- the thing is shes now 9 months old and still is refusing to eat it (and I don’t blame her, its tart as tart can be and makes my face even pucker)
I know i cant add honey and would like to avoid’t adding sugar, so what can i do? I don’t want it all to go to waist and am curious if anyone has any ideas how to incorporate it in other home cooked meals or how to make it tolerable at least?

How old was your baby when you feed them the gerber stage 2 baby food in the jar?
My daughter is 7 month’s old and I brought her the stage 2 gerber baby food in the jar and I fed it to her and by the 4th spoon, she looked like she had difficult time swallowing it and then she vomited and it made me think maybe I started those jars kinda early and stick to stage 1 til she’s ready. BTW she can sit up on her own. Suggestions?

  9. Pamela says:

Is gerber baby food more expensive than formula?
What is the cost of gerber baby food? How many jars does a baby go through in a day on average? I go through 1 tub of formula a week now, and I’m wondering if the gerber baby food is more or less than the formula.
